Here at Lovelight we are always looking to be more than the supplier of product. Yes, we are providing a product to make up one part of a wider design or project, but it’s always been deep within our philosophy that we aim to add as much value as possible for our customers, our partners and the home owners and residents that will ultimately enjoy the product. That’s why when it comes to sourcing our people, we go beyond a basic job description. Instead we search for truly special individuals with career and life backgrounds that empower them to add real value to the projects they touch. Masters of the art of window furnishings, expertise and deep product knowledge see our team members thrive - and their infectious personalities take them that step further.

Case in point, is textile technologist, turned sales-guru, turned Account Manager, Isabelle Szendrak.

With 14 years’ experience in the window furnishings and textiles industry, Isabelle has certainly turned her rich passion into a successful career. From her very first job working in soft furnishings at a Spotlight store, through to establishing and running her own custom textile design business, Isabelle has had widespread industry experience that has armed her with the ability to recognise and understand quality products and how best to integrate them into a project.

Our partners and clients know that Lovelight take technological innovation seriously and make it a top priority to stay at the forefront of industry technical knowledge. So it’s important that as well as a passion for design and love for the products, our people know their stuff. Having followed her love of fabrics to university to become a qualified textile technologist, Isabelle brings a real depth of technical ‘know how’ to the sales team.

Forming close ties with our partner designers and builders, Isabelle is able to communicate her knowledge of the technical side of fabrics to help them to better understand and on-sell the Lovelight product. “Whether roller blinds or drapery, I can help them with the fabrics and explain how fabric is going to fit, work and perform - that's something that both my studies, and my love of fabrics has given me the ability to do.”

Isabelle considers this a real highlight of the role; “being able to share my knowledge and put my technical knowledge to work in a way that's really adding value to others' experience and designs is very rewarding.”

So why Lovelight? With a long history in the industry, Isabelle was already familiar with the Lovelight brand and had worked with our team through her time working with one of our partner builders, so the move was an easy one.

“Lovelight are just so innovative and different. I don’t think I’ve ever heard them say ‘no’ - if something doesn’t go to plan they look a new way to solve the problem or make something happen - it’s an approach to doing business I was really attracted to.”

Isabelle acknowledges that one of the biggest challenges in our industry is dealing with the misconception that window furnishings aren’t necessarily a key part of a design project. “It’s easy to think it’s an area not worth investing in, because they’re ‘just blinds’ or, just some hanging fabric - but we know that they’re so much more than that. My understanding and passion for fabric and design of window furnishings really helps in being able to educate people and make them see the impact window furnishings can actually make”. At Lovelight we believe that through the best choice of the most effectively designed window furnishings, we can make a real impact on the way light enters your space - and enhance the beauty and harmony of a space in doing so. Sometimes you have to see it to believe it, and people like Isabelle are vital to showing our partners and customers the way. Having educated experts like Isabelle represent our brand makes all the difference to our partners’ experience with Lovelight, and to the impact we can ultimately have on a project.

In addition to being around the products she loves, Isabelle finds our overall company culture and approach to business to be a hugely positive part of her work. “I’m blessed!” She says, when asked about ‘highlights of the role.

“I don't think I've ever worked in a place where as a whole the people are so genuinely happy. We're all hard workers, we're all here to do our work, but are just happy - and it comes out in our work. We all go that extra mile and clients really appreciate it.”

Having recently moved into a strong relationship management role, Isabelle looks forward to extending her industry experience as a Lovelight Account Manager, and continuing to be an integral part of our energetic, high-performing team.

As a Lovelight partner you’ll work closely with people like Isabelle on your ongoing projects, and enjoy the full benefit of their rich technical and design knowledge along the way. Find more information on our partner services and volume campaigns here.
