Designed by Powell & Glenn and developed by ICON, George + Powllet is twelve contemporary residential apartments, transformed from a rundown 1960’s motel. Created as a high-end option for downsizers, these gorgeous apartments provide the comfort and convenience of apartment living with the impression of a full-sized home.

From the outside, the unique facade, seamlessly combines lush greenery and bold architectural lines, giving a hint of what is to come. Inside, the overall style is contemporary and luxurious, with the use of soft, natural finishes in a paired back palette of earthy tones. Washed timber flooring and white plastered walls throughout, allows each resident the chance to individualise their space.

Rachel from Powell & Glenn selected the window furnishings for the penthouse apartment (pictured). As the apartment is built around a courtyard and verandas, window furnishings play an essential role. Rachel selected S-Fold curtains in Svenska Wisper fabric for the entire penthouse apartment. This beautiful soft flowing fabric creates a neutral background and allows the other furnishings to shine. The curtains are ceiling-mounted to emphasise the apartment’s three-meter high ceilings and full height door and windows.

For the bedroom, Rachel chose blockout lined S-Fold curtains for added privacy and darkness. The neutral tones add to calming colour-palette, of blue and grey.
